• Portable working earths are utilized to ensure that an overhead line  may be safely earthed/grounded. Models are available to cover systems voltage from 6.6kV to 132kV, with different  fault ratings.
• The higher the fault level the thicker the conductors, to ensure that the excess current can be conducted safely to earth.
• Operated by means of a link stick

How does the unit work?

• The linesman should always work between 2x visible grounded earths. This is known as the safe zone. Should the line be mistakenly energised or be struck by lightning the linesman will be protected from electrical shock, by working between these safety earth conductors.

2 x 2m Phase leads of 40mm2 flexible copper red insulation c/w snap on clamps both sides.
1 x 12m Phase to ground lead of 40mm2 flexible copper red insulation c/w snap on clamp one side and earth clamp other side.
1 x Cluster head
1 x Red carry bag

Installation of CER
1. Attached earth clamp of long lead to earth spike.
2. Take snap on clamp of long lead and attache to applicator head on link stick.
3. Apply snap on clamp to middle phase.
4. Take one phase lead and apply snap on clamps to applicator head.
5. Apply phase lead from centre phase to left outer phase.
6. Repeat process with other phase lead but move from centre phase to right outer phase.
7. Removal is the exact reverse of application.
